June 16, 2008 by Tony | Tag(s): EC, Entrecard Credit, make money, Marketing
What have you been doing to increase your blog traffic recently? Just worried about the blog traffic not moving at all. Entrecard has been successful since last month to bring a mixed kind of traffic to numerous blogs out there. There is a reason why I call that traffic mixed, just simply because the traffic coming to your blog might not be doing the intended activities just like done by a regular search engine visitor of your blog.
Not to be complex anymore, the blog traffic might be just hopping visitors dropping Entrecards at each blogs and you might be hearing about it around, but remember like online advertising formula where conversions are much lesser than the total percentage of visitors, this blog traffic also gives you 10-20% regular readers from 100% Entrecard traffic. I measure the world from my own experience at times, and that’s why I am confident about stating that you can get quality traffic from Entrecard as I myself subscribed to many blogs and started reading those regularly that I came across through Entrecard.
I am getting decent traffic from Entrecard and I thought my readers shall also get some! Are you new to Entrecard and don’t have enough Entrecard credits in the account to advertise on one of those hot blogs around, here I help you out. I don’t like to be complex. So here is simple rule to win 500 ECs by 1st week of february.

- And that’s it.

Google Taking On Third Party Ads
June 8, 2008 by Tony | Tag(s): Google Adsense, make money
Google has opened up its Google AdSense network to third-party advertisers. Before, the network served text and display ads from Google only. This is good news for the third-party advertising networks as it allows them access into the biggest ad platform in the world.
We’re happy to announce that the Google content network now accepts display ads served from qualified third-party vendors. During this initial release, only ads in English are eligible, although we look forward to offering more options in the future.
By accepting third-party ads, we can attract a greater variety of advertising on the Google content network, which we believe will result over time in increased revenue for publishers and more relevant advertising for end users.
If you’re currently opted in to show image ads, then you’re go to go for third-party ads. If not, you can enable image ads to start receiving third-party ads immediately. You will need to update your privacy policy to inform your visitors that third-party vendors may serve ads on your site. You’ll continue to have full control over which ads appear on your site with tools like competitive ad filtering and the Ad Review Center.
More information about the third-party ads can be found at the Google blog or at the Google FAQ.
Kontera Releases Offcial Wordpress Plugin
June 8, 2008 by Tony | Tag(s): Kontera, make money, Wordpress Plugins
The folks over at Kontera have released an official Wordpress plugin. This was something I discussed at length with Kontera during my dinner with them in Ad Tech.
Unlike TTZ Media network, the installation of the Kontera ad codes requires a user to do more than just copy and past a few lines of text. You’ll need a fair understand of HTML and FTP access to your blog. That’s all changed with the release of the new Plugin. Some of the features include.
- Add the ContentLink tag to all your pages in one click
- Block ContentLink ads from appearing on particular posts or categories
- Determine when ContentLink ads will begin appearing on new posts- you can choose to block ads for a particular number of days
- Display ContentLinks only on posts
- Display ContentLinks only on comments
- Change ContentLinks color
Installation of the plugin is pretty straightforward - just upload to your Wordpress plugins folder and then activate it. Then it’s just a matter of inserting your publisher ID and deciding where you want to context link to show up.

How To Make Money by Recommending Products You Like/Use
June 8, 2008 by Tony | Tag(s): Adsvertising, make money
Here’s the story of how I went from earning no affiliate sales to generating thousands of dollars in sales every month.
When I started Free Money Finance, I decided that I would only recommend products and services that I was familiar with and/or use myself. I established this policy because I didn’t want people to think I was saying I liked something just so they would buy it and I could make a few extra bucks. As the blog grew in popularity, this philosophy served me well as readers learned they could trust me and that I would never intentionally lead them astray – especially just in an effort to make money for myself.
However, as you might imagine, this philosophy severely limited my blog’s earning potential. For the longest time, I ran Adsense and nothing else. Then I wised-up a bit and realized that there was a way that I and my readers could both benefit from affiliate sales on my site. So I took the following steps that ultimately helped my income to skyrocket.
Step 1 - Make a list
As the writer of a money blog, I brainstormed and listed the various money-related products that I use and like. The list included Vanguard for investments, Quicken for financial tracking, various books that had made a difference in my personal money management, and a couple Credit Cards I was using to maximize my cash back rewards.
Step 2 - Supplement the list
I supplemented this list with products that my readers said they liked and recommended. Examples of these included budgeting solutions from Mvelopes and You Need a Budget.
Step 3 - Find matching affiliate programs
With the list in hand, I went on the hunt to find affiliate programs offered by these businesses. Ultimately, I was able to track down an affiliate program for each of my options except for Vanguard (I did find one for E*Trade and I use them, but I really can’t recommend them fully like I can Vanguard.)
I took a duel approach in offering the programs to my readers – I put ads on my site and I also talked about the products, how I used them, what others said about them, etc. in posts. I even took comments from readers who had their own successes with the products and posted them as endorsements of the products. Here are a few examples:
- How You Can Earn Over 2.6% Cash Back by Using a Combination of the American Express Blue Cash and Chase Freedom Cash Visa Credit Card
- Mvelopes Seems to be a Winner (At Least for Most People)
- Personal Finance Books that Can Change Your Life
The results? No contest – the post-related mentions performed much better. In many cases, the ads didn’t have any conversions at all while the in-post links generated hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars in sales per month.
What was the difference? I could honestly recommend the products, so my passion came through in the posts. Furthermore, I had tangible examples to share with readers – how to best use each item to get the most from them. In short, my enthusiasm, knowledge and personal recommendations helped to sell the products. Sales soared and hundreds, if not thousands, of readers got products that can help them to improve their personal finances. It was a win for us all!
So, what items/programs/services do you use and like? Make a list, search out affiliate programs for them, and get to writing. Your fortune could be waiting.
Tracking202 Goes Self-Hosted with Prosper202
oAffiliate marketing can prove to be one of the most lucrative ways to make money online, but tracking all the numbers involved can be a very cumbersome and complicated process. As you may recall, I reviewed a solution earlier this year that was designed specifically for this purpose. It seemed like Tracking 202 did a wonderful job of tracking the effectiveness of your PPC campaigns, but many people voiced their concerns over privacy.
Wes Mahler heard your concerns and now he has addressed them with no fewer than two new releases. If you didn’t catch what Tracking 202 was all about the first time around, be sure to read the original review first.
Are They Stealing My Data?
In the first Tracking202 review, I noted that affiliate marketers are very protective of their keywords. The issue is that when you use the Tracking202 online service, this pertinent data is then made available to the people who run Tracking202. This invaluable information reveals which keywords perform the best and which provide the best rate of return.
Understandably, affiliate marketers had a huge concern over the privacy of this information. The data was hosted on the Tracking202 servers and there was no way for you to know that they weren’t “stealing your campaigns”, so to speak. What if Wes Mahler was stealing your keywords?
